We believe we as fans deserve to have our voices heard.  This is a forum for fans to share with other fans and with The Powers That Be exactly what Stargate SG-1 means to them.

Thought of the Day for TPTB

One team, one family

Just watch them; Jack, Daniel, Sam and Teal'c.

For five years they've watched each others' backs, saved one anothers' lives, laughed and cried, celebrated and mourned together.  Even when one was left behind he would share the fear and victory of those away.

They finish one anothers' sentences, take pizza to one anothers' houses. They're more than colleagues, they're family.  They're a team.  Even apart, they're together.

They work as one, trust as one.  Together they've won the heart of so many millions of fans all over the world.

We watch for the fun and the humour.  We watch for the adventure and the suspense.  We watch to see the four members of SG1 work, rest and play together.

It's not about the politics of Earth.  Not about the allies and the enemies.  It's about the team.

How can those people who have written, directed and produced this wonderful team for so long turn their back on it?  They must have believed in the team enough to create it, to write it and cast it.  They must have known that together, Jack, Daniel, Sam and Teal'c made up a family so strong it would draw and hold the fans.  Loads of sci-fi shows went exploring other planets.  No other show did it with these four people.

A loyal following of fans was drawn from over the globe.  We met in person and online, thousands of strangers drawn together by the chemistry of the SG1 team.

What made the people who created this turn on it so brutally?

How can people who loved the character of Daniel Jackson for four years slowly but surely destroy him?

How can we - the fans - be expected to accept such a sweeping change? Why are we suddenly the enemy?  Without the team - Jack, Daniel, Sam and Teal'c - it's a different show, why should we be expected to stay?

Not only have those that once loved the team enough to build character backgrounds and friendships turned their backs on their own creations, they've turned their backs on us who loved enough to watch.

It hurts to realise that I hate the thought of what's being done to Stargate SG1.  They should have remained as a team - the four of them together.  They were there at the start and should have been able to step onto the big screen together.

No one would expect Star Trek fans to accept a Next Generation film with an android who wasn't Data playing at being Geordie's best friend and the captain's confidant.  No one should expect Stargate SG1 fans to accept a new Stargate film without Daniel there with his teammates, where he belongs.

All we want is the team back.  Is that so much to ask?
