Legends Memorabilia, who sell a wide range of merchandise related to Stargate SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis and other shows, have issued a warning to fans of the shows regarding a recent case of fake autographed photos being sold on Ebay. The pictures in question, allegedly signed by Michael Shanks, were found to be forgeries and the relevant listings were removed from the auction site.
Concerned that fans are not misled into buying such fakes, Legends will continue to monitor autographed items put up for sale online and urge fans to contact them if they have any suspicion that signatures on an item listed for sale are fake. Certified autographed photos, which also benefit various charities supported by the SG-1 actors, can be found here.
Earlier this year, Stargate SG-1 entered the Guinness Book of World Records, gaining an entry in the 2007 volume when it claimed the 'Longest running sci-fi TV show (consecutive)' title. Current stars of the show Michael Shanks, Christopher Judge, Amanda Tapping, Ben Browder, Beau Bridges and Claudia Black were featured in print alongside executive producers Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper.
However, fans of the Sci Fi Channel's more recent acquisition Dr Who have queried the inclusion of SG-1 in the record books. They cite their own show's 695 episode run between 1963 and 1989, when the show went on hiatus prior to the making of a later television movie and the current run of new episodes.
Now the BBC, makers of Dr Who, have weighed into the argument and are promising 'an exciting development to this story' soon - for more information on the differing claims of Stargate SG-1 and Dr Who to this particular milestone, go here.
Our friends at website Michael Shanks Online have the first pics of Michael's upcoming made-for-television movie, Under the Mistletoe, in which he plays a hockey coach.
Exclusive shots from the movie, due to air in the US on the Lifetime Channel in December 2006, can be found here.
Richard Dean Anderson will appear alongside his former Stargate SG-1 co-star Amanda Tapping at a charity event later this month in Vancouver - the Vancouver FMA event will benefit local charities Medallion Housing and British Columbia SPCA, as well as RDA's own favourite, Sea Shepherd.
For more information on the event, which takes place on September 30th, visit the official website here.

Both Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis feature in the technical nominations for this year's Gemini Awards, though they'll have to wait until October 18th to find out the results.
Stargate SG-1 picks up four nominations, including two in the Best Visual Effects category (for season 9 episodes 'Camelot' and 'Beachhead'), as well as one for Best Achievement in Make-Up (for long-time makeup expert Jan Newman in respect of her work on 'Origin') and Best Sound in a Dramatic Series (again for 'Camelot'). The last category sees SG-1 up against their Atlantis counterparts, as SG:A picks up a single nomination this year for the season 2 episode 'The Hive'.
