Not much Gemini joy for Stargate crews

In October, we announced the nominations picked up by the behind the scenes staff of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis - sadly, only one of the SFX teams picked up an award, with the only Stargate-related industry award of the night going to the team responsible for visual effects in the Atlantis pilot, 'Rising'.

No joy either for Stargate SG-1 alumnus Ben Bass for his role in The Eleventh Hour as television honours were pretty much shared out between the actors in Re-Genesis and This Is Wonderland.

Stargate SG-1's Michael Shanks to Appear on CSI: Miami

Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson) has cancelled his appearance at the upcoming Wolfcon SG10 in England scheduled for this coming weekend due to professional commitments. Instead, he will be filming a guest appearance on the hit USA show CSI: Miami.

In a message on the Wolfcon boards, Mr. Shanks said, "To everyone attending SG-10, I want to extend my sincere apology that I have at the eleventh hour to cancel my appearance. This is not something I do lightly but it is unavoidable. I have spend most of today/night with Bryan on the phone trying to work out a plan but we have failed to find a way round my work commitment. After having to cancel the Expo last week I was so sure that there would not be a problem with SG-10. I will be guest starring on the US hit series CSI Miami and was only
booked yesterday and am required on set Friday." Mr. Shanks also said that he would be trying to set up a phone call to the attendees of the convention.

CSI: Miami airs on CBS Monday nights at 10 pm ET.

Cast list still unclear for season 10?

Despite the official word being released by Sci Fi that both Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis have been renewed for further seasons, as reported here, there's still no clear word on exactly who will be returning to either show.

While appearing at a convention in England this past weekend, Amanda Tapping stunned audiences by saying she has yet to sign her contract and if she does she may be appearing in both shows, with her full season of appearances (20 episodes) split between SG-1 and Atlantis. Amanda is already slated to appear in season 2 Atlantis episode 'Grace Under Pressure', due to air in the new year.

Meanwhile, Michael Shanks has also announced that he has yet to sign his contract for season 10 and describes himself in a comment via his agent to website Michael Shanks Online as 'a free agent'.
