Rak'nor, now with rock star accompaniment, hits the boards

April 27th marks the start of preview performances of Stratford Shakespeare Festival's production of As You Like It with Stargate SG-1 guest star Obi Ndefo (Rak'nor) set to take the romantic lead as Orlando.

This production will have songs and incidental music, using the lyrics Shakespeare wrote, arranged and performed by Canadian band Barenaked Ladies, who had this to say of the Bard: "It's hard to ask for a better co-writer, really, even if he is a little unbending in his approach to collaboration!"

Tickets are on sale via the festival box office - for more information on this production, go here.

Developers give away SG video game spoilers

"The game takes place right before the episode “Threads” in Season 8 of the series," say developers of the Stargate SG-1: The Alliance video game, due out later this year, in an in-depth interview with game site Worth Playing.

The game's makers are keen to stress the team aspect of their FPS product, as well as the option to play missions as different characters, saying: "If you play as Daniel Jackson in a certain mission for example, you will be required to use different skills than if you play a mission as Jack O’Neill." They comment that they've had "extensive help" from the cast of the show, so perhaps you'll soon hear the dulcet tones of Michael Shanks or Richard Dean Anderson coming from a video screen near you?

New Stargate Props Auctions

Legends Memorabilia has just started a new Stargate props and costumes auction.

Click here to see a list of the auctions currently running on Ebay.

One of the first items up for bidding is Reece's costume, from the Stargate SG-1 episode "Menace." Among the items being sold are Ba'al and O'Neill’s hero costumes from “Abyss.” A hero costume is the one worn onscreen by the actor, so these are the actual costumes worn by Cliff Simon and Richard Dean Anderson.

Other items to be sold include the inner crystals from a DHD, Daniel Jackson’s (Michael Shanks) hero Ra necklace from Full Circle, Osiris' hero costume from “Chimera,” Sam’s (Amanda Tapping) hero flowers from “Chimera” and a Goa'uld vo'cum (camera) from “Serpent’s Venom.” There will be lots more props, costumes and items to come.

They'll be adding new items daily, from now until May 3rd.
