The ongoing infiltration of Canadian actors into US television continues with a role for David Paetkau, who played escaped prisoner 'Lyle Pender' in the season 6 Stargate SG-1 episode 'Forsaken', in NBC's new show LAX.
Paetkau, who hails from Vancouver and has also appeared in Smallville and the movie Final Destination 2, will play a rookie immigration officer in the series which premieres in September.

Collectormania have announced that Amanda Tapping will attend their next event, to be held from 1-3 October in Milton Keynes, UK. Full details at:
During his appearance at GateCon on 18 July, Don S Davis said that he would shortly be travelling to London to enter funding talks with Sky Movies for the "Maggie Rose" movie project. At United Fan Con in November 2003, Michael Shanks, who will co-produce and star in the movie, said:
"It's a film about a small community that wants to raise a ship that they'd lost while fishing. The character that I am going to play lost his father on the ship; it's an underlying metaphor for the amalgamation and conglomeration of big business and how it's affecting every individual person and how people can find the strength in themselves to maintain an independence from that."
The movie will be filmed on the Eastern seaboard of Canada.
Cooper says, "The last half of the season will be the most epic storywise we've ever done. Huge, huge things are going to happen the second half of the year. Whether they become the series finale storylines or not remains to be seen. I think if you've watched Stargate you're going to want to see the last six or seven episodes because it's going to be big."
Due to a commitment to a made for television movie, Amanda Tapping won't be appearing at the Creation Con in Neward, NJ August 7 & 8. Stargate Atlantis co-star, Rachel Luttrell will be appearing in her place. Creation promises refunds for reserved photo-op and autograph tickets. Go here for more information.

It looks like MGM has relented and reinstated the Bridge Studio tours for the upcoming Gatecon, July 14-20, 2004 in Vancouver, Canada! In past years, MGM has allowed the fan run convention to auction off tours of Bridge Studios, where Stargate SG-1 is filmed, with the proceeds from the auctions benefiting the Make A Wish Foundation. This year, the tours were suddenly canceled by MGM, disappointing many fans who had hoped to catch a glimpse inside the workings of their favorite show and leaving Gatecon scrambling to come up with other ways to raise funds for the charity. But now, mere weeks before the convention, MGM has apparently given Gatecon the go-ahead to offer the tours again! [Gatecon Auction Site]
