New roles for Shanks and Avari as series ends

Congratulations from everyone here at SDJ to Michael Shanks, whose last episodic appearance as Daniel Jackson in Stargate SG-1 gets its world premiere tonight in the UK - our friends at Michael Shanks Online report that Michael has picked up a recurring role on hit US show 24. He'll be playing a character called 'Michael Bishop' and is due to appear in a four-episode arc, for which filming starts shortly. We'll let you know more as we hear it...

Meanwhile, congratulations too to Erick Avari (who played fan favourite character Kasuf both on the big screen and in the television series). Avari, most recently seen as Chandra Suresh in hit show Heroes, has picked up a substantial role in CBS comedy pilot The Rich Inner Life of Penelope Cloud.
