Dean Devlin Talks Stargate Movies

Breaking news from this weekend's San Diego Comic Con, where Dean Devlin, producer and creator of the original Stargate movie was in attendance ... On Thursday, Comic-Con was host to a panel for the upcoming film, Flyboys. Flyboys is a World War I era film centered on the flying aces of the time. The film, inspired by a true story, is being produced by film veteran Dean Devlin, of Stargate and Independence Day fame.

Set in France, Flyboys follows the journey of young Americans as they learn to fight and fly at a time when airplanes had barely taken flight.

One interesting non-Flyboys item: producer Dean Devlin stated that he was in talks to produce the two sequels to the sci-fi hit, Stargate. He said, "I'd want the films to stay on track for what the original three were planned to be, I want to let the series stand on their own." He is currently in talks with MGM for these projects.
