Despite receiving three nominations in the Creative Emmy Awards, as reported here, both Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis left the awards empty-handed as the Sci Fi Channel's shows were overlooked.
Up for Outstanding Main Title Theme Music and Outstanding Special Visual Effects awards (the latter for the premiere two-parter 'Rising', also competing against the SG-1 episode 'Reckoning Part 2'), Stargate: Atlantis lost out to Desperate Housewives and Lost respectively as HBO picked up 20 awards and ABC picked up 10.
