Candice Bergen joins James Spader, William Shatner and the cast of Boston Legal in new episodes beginning tonight (Sunday, January 9th) on ABC in the US. The Boston Herald says the show is a "best pick" and has this to say: "Bergen's Shirley Schmidt has heard about all the shenanigans (lawyers without pants, lawyers without mental stability, lawyers without shame) at Crane, Poole & Schmidt and decides to take action. The arrival of the erstwhile Murphy Brown will prompt the exit of Lake Bell's scantily clad Sally Heep next week.
And can we make one small request? We'll stipulate to the fact that there is something innately sexy about James Spader. His smarmy Alan Shore is a compelling, fascinating character. We're sure a jury of viewers would agree.
But it's beyond a reasonable doubt that every woman who crosses Alan's path would want to sleep with him. The man has romanced nearly every actress in the opening credits and his fair share of guest stars. Let's hope that Schmidt doesn't fall prey to Alan's charming ways. Surely they wouldn't expect us to believe that. "
