With the second part of the Stargate: Atlantis two-part premiere episode 'Rising' airing in the UK this week, the spin-off show garnered excellent ratings for Sky One - the first part of the episode, shown October 12, debuted to an impressive 1.18 million viewers, 898,000 tuning in this week to see part 2.
Whether the Atlantis ratings will be maintained remains to be seen - 916,000 viewers had tuned in for new season 8 Stargate SG-1 episode 'Lockdown', thus giving the 'old' show a ratings win over the newcomer in only its second week of airing.
